Our WS_FTP configuration tutorial shows how to setup WS_FTP for your W3U account. To configure WS_FTP, follow the simple instructions below. Each time you run WS_FTP, the Session Properties window will be displayed. A profile contains the information needed to connect to your web site. Creating a profile now will eliminate the need for you to configure the software each time you wish to connect to the web server via FTP. Open WS_FTP. If the "Session Properties" dialog box does not automatically appear, click on the "Connect" button in the lower left hand corner of the WS_FTP window. |

We will use the example of a W3U web hosted account with the following account info: Domain name: xyz.com What if I do not know my IP address? Click here for a simple utility that will give you the IP address of your website. In the "Session Properties" dialog box, choose the "General" tab. Then click on the "New" button. |

| Fill in the boxes as follows: Profile Name: xyz.com - W3U account Host Name/Address: 255.255.255.255 Host Type: UNIX (standard) User ID: abcdefg Password: (enter your password) Put a check in the 'Save Pwd' box |

Then click on "Apply". Now, click on the "Startup" tab. For Premium and Platinum web hosting accounts, leave the Initial Remote Host Directory box blank. For the Classic web hosting account, enter ../../web |

Then click on "Apply" again. |
